Suddenly found ourselves at a gathering of vintage car enthusiasts
I don't like cars and I don't like driving. But the party atmosphere was good
Totally unexpectedly, we found ourselves at a vintage car show. Several blocks in downtown Kitchener were blocked off for it, and police kept order at the event. Although you could see from the looks on the faces of the police officers that they were also excited about some of the cars.
"There are as many people as on Deribasivska Street," my wife said, and I realized once again how much the war had taken away from us. Before Russia unleashed a full-scale war against Ukraine, such gatherings of car or motorcycle enthusiasts were a usual cultural phenomenon in our wonderful southern city by the sea, Odessa.
Of course, now we have it all in our lives again, but no one will give us back the years of life spent in wanderings.
