Hi, I’m a Ukrainian immigrant living in Kitchener, Ontario, and this blog is my way of blending two passions: music and life. I’ve always been fascinated by sound — from the warm crackle of vinyl to the precise immersion of Dolby Atmos. Whether it’s restoring vintage hi-fi gear or exploring modern audio setups, I find joy in both the nostalgia and the tech.

Back in Ukraine, I had a home, a life, and a community — all of which I lost when Russia launched its full-scale war. Like many, I had to start over. Canada became a new beginning, and today I work as a Chef in a long-term care home. It’s challenging, meaningful work that keeps me grounded while I rebuild.

Maple & Vinyl is a place where I share what I love: records I’m spinning, equipment I’m testing, sound systems I admire, and sometimes, reflections on life in Canada. It’s not just about music — it’s about the stories that come with it.
